Episodes

The person that inspired the idea for the Pass ACLS Tip of the Day podcast used the phrase “Like an audio flashcard that people can listen to on their way to work or school”.  Nearly everyone used flashcards to memorize the key things we needed to learn in order to be a medical professional.  But, you can’t safely drive and read at the same time.  And, the ink runs if you get soapy water water on a 5×7 note card.

Keeping with the “audio flash card” concept is the motivation behind every Tip of the Day episode.  Every Monday through Friday I cover one of the key topics needed for a medical professional to pass their ACLS written exam and mega code.  Some of the topics covered include: CPR/BLS review, Chain of Survival, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), EGC rhythms, Stroke, the core ACLS algorithms, H&T reversible causes of cardiac arrest, and front-line medications.  Occasionally I also share my opinion about team safety, communication, and multi-disciplinary teamwork.

Each episode is an easy-to-digest three to nine minutes and is presented at a slower (eLearning) pace.  The slower pace and clear audio makes it easier to understand when listening in a distracting environment.  Most podcast apps provide the ability to speed it up if you’d rather it be quicker.

In addition to the ability to select & download specific episodes on most podcast apps, an option to play the latest episode on your Amazon voice device is also available.  You can learn how to set up the Pass ACLS Tip of the Day Flash Briefing skill by watching the video on the Alexa Flash Briefing page.

If there’s a topic for an episode that you’d like covered, contact me.  The links to my Twitter and LinkedIn are available here and at the bottom of every episode’s notes.

I hope that you get something useful from every episode to help you pass your ACLS class!
